Become a Youth Coach!

The YSCA Coach

Inspire and Develop the Next Generation by Becoming a Youth Strength & Conditioning Coach! Discover what it really means to coach youth athletes – beyond just delivering sessions.

The YSCA Coach Course

With the growing interest from young athletes to excel in sports, youth training has become a fundamental aspect of coaching.

At Strength & Conditioning Education, we have observed a lack of educational resources in Youth S&C training and have decided to take action!

Our Youth Coach course is the second out of the three components within the Youth Pathway. To undertake this course you can upgrade from the Assistant or enrol onto our fully endorsed and accredited Pathway.

Course Content

Here’s exactly what is covered in the Youth Strength and Conditioning Coach Course following on from and building on the Youth Assistant modules:

Module 1

The YSCA Coach Introduction – debunking common myths about youth sports training using scientific evidence, emphasising the importance of proper supervision, age-appropriate and individualised programs, multi-sport participation, and careful monitoring of training loads, maturation rates, and recovery

Module 2

Pathway Levels 1-2 – Focusing on key physiological outcomes such as work capacity and cardiovascular development, demonstrating progressions across various fitness components including preparation, recovery, strength, conditioning, power, and speed.

Module 3

Profiling, Programming and Monitoring – Exploring the concept of profiling in sports, which is a data-driven process that assesses an athlete’s physical characteristics to enhance their performance. Covering the four main components: movement screening, competency assessment, fitness testing, and anthropometric analysis.

Module 4 & Case Study

Youth Coach knowledge check assessment followed by case study submission and certification.
