Ben Haining
YSCA chairman Ben Haining has been involved in Youth S&C for well over a decade, as well as being the first independent school full time S&C coach in the UK.
Nick has worked in the field of physical performance for over 20 years with a master’s degree from the University of Calgary. He is an accredited strength and conditioning tutor with the UKSCA, and provides education in physical preparation to schools, coaches and clubs. He also consults as the Physical Performance lead to England Golf, Derbyshire Institute of Sport and Sheffield Eagles RLFC. Through his work with a diverse breadth of organisations Nick has supported programmes and centres along a pedagogical pathway to develop athletes to Train well – Eat well – Recover well.
Throughout his 25 years of applied coaching experience he has consistently delivered to young people in both a health and wellness as well as from a performance perspective. Nick is excited about being a part of the YSCA and continuing to guide and develop coaches who will make an impact with the next generation of young people.

Internationally regarded as a leader in athletic development and youth wellness Kelvin’s curriculum has influenced far and wide.
Brendan has over 12 years experience working with young people in a strength and conditioning capacity through national and regional roles with British Tennis, England Golf and many other teams and governing bodies.
Jared Deacon is the head of academy strength and conditioning at Edinburgh Rugby Club and has over 15 years coaching experience.
Ron is our representive and director in the USA. Ron’s background is college football and he has worked with young athletes for 20 years.
Nick Ward, former lead Strength & Conditioning coach to England Golf. Nick is a leader in the field. His work has influenced many of the faculty to date.
Laurence has spent over a decade working in professional football, including running and managing academy strength and conditioning. His experience with young people is highly extensive.
Ryan comes from a background working in circket and tennis predominantly with young athletes during that time. His current role is the Strength & Conditioning Coach for St Pauls School in London.
As an 15 year veteran S&C coach Dave has delivered to young people for over a decade and is a specialist in weightlifting and strength training for young athletes.
